Kansas Quarterly Estimated Taxes – Tax Year 2009
| GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
|
Kansas requires that you complete and submit Kansas Form K-40ES (PDF) to make any necessary estimated tax payments.
Estimated tax payments are required on income not subject to withholding, such as earnings from self-employment, unemployment, interest and dividends (including income earned in another state while living in Kansas). You must make estimated tax payments if:
- your estimated Kansas income tax after all credits is $500 or more;
- and your withholding and credits may be less than the smaller of: a) 90% of the tax on your tax return for tax year 2009; or b) 100% of the tax shown on your 2008 tax return.
You also have the option of making a payment online via direct debit through the Kansas Tax Payment Center. As an alternative to paying your taxes out of your bank account, you may choose to make a credit or debit card payment through an authorized third-party vendor. Here's a list of vendors that handle Kansas estimated tax payments with credit cards.
For more information, please refer to the Form K-40ES Instructions (PDF) or
visit the State of Kansas Department of Revenue website.
