Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)

by Ryan Thompson on August 3, 2009

If you are paying estimated taxes in 2009, there is a change with the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) that the IRS suggests you consider.

The AMT exemption amount is increased to $46,700 ($70,950 if married filing jointly or a qualifying widow(er); $35,475 if married filing separately).

For more information about the AMT, check out the AMT Assistant on the IRS website.
